Hansen Marine, supporting the return of urban swimming
Since the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Hansen Marine has been supporting local authorities in the development of new open-water swimming facilities.
After delivering the floating structures for the Olympic events on the Seine and contributing to the first organized swimming site in Paris in 2024, our teams went on to design, manufacture, and install the first urban bathing sites in the Greater Paris region.
In 2026, Hansen Marine is now involved in 5 bathing sites on the Seine and Marne rivers, confirming its unique expertise in the design and construction of floating structures dedicated to swimming.
5 bathing sites delivered by Hansen Marine for summer 2026
This summer, eight supervised bathing sites will open to the public on the Seine and Marne rivers. Among them, 5 have been designed, manufactured, and installed by Hansen Marine.
This achievement reflects the expertise developed by our teams over several years to support local authorities in bringing urban swimming back to the Greater Paris region.

City of Paris - Bras Marie bathing site
(2025 Edition)
An iconic bathing site in the heart of Paris
Located between Pont de Sully and Pont Marie, on a secondary branch of the Seine, this bathing site marked the return of swimming to the French capital as part of the Paris Plages initiative.
With a 150-metre riverside footprint, it offered Parisians a unique swimming experience in the heart of the city, within a safe and specially designed area on the Seine.
Hansen Marine designed, manufactured, and installed 78 linear metres of floating pontoons, along with all the site’s facilities, including PRM-accessible access gangways, furniture, lockers, showers, benches, and safety equipment.
This first project was a great success during its operating season and helped demonstrate the feasibility of urban swimming in the very heart of Paris.
In 2026, the City of Paris is continuing this momentum with a new bathing site located at Pont Louis-Philippe, presented below.
City of Paris - Pont Louis-Philippe
2026 Edition
A new bathing site in the heart of Paris
Located near Pont Louis-Philippe, this new bathing site replaces the former Bras Marie location, allowing continuous opening throughout the day.
Hansen Marine is responsible for the design, manufacturing, and installation of all floating structures for the site, including:
- A floating bathing facility measuring 60 m long and 12 m wide
- 3 PRM-accessible gangways: (2 gangways measuring 15 m and 1 gangway measuring 11 m)
Site equipment:
- Reboarding ladders
- A PRM lifting hoist
- Storage lockers
- Lifebuoys
- A wastewater management system
Paris, quai de Bercy
The largest bathing site in Paris
Located on both sides of the Simone de Beauvoir Footbridge, this bathing site extends over more than 110 metres of riverfront.
The facility includes:
- A large pool measuring 68 m × 12 m
- A second pool measuring 36 m × 13.5 m
- A PRM-accessible sun deck
Hansen Marine designed, manufactured, and installed:
- Galvanized steel floating pontoons
- Access gangways
- Access stairs and water-entry ramps
- Safety equipment
This flagship project is one of the largest urban bathing facilities developed in Paris and contributes to the transformation of the Seine into a new leisure and recreation space for residents and visitors alike.

Neuilly-sur-Marne (Greater Paris Area)
The first bathing site in Seine-Saint-Denis
Located near the Port of Neuilly-sur-Marne, in the Greater Paris region,
this new 380 m² urban bathing facility features two safe swimming areas designed for both children and adults.
Hansen Marine was responsible for the design, manufacturing, and installation of all the floating structures and site facilities, including:
- A 380 m² floating bathing facility
- Two supervised swimming areas with engineered underwater floors:
- A children’s pool of approximately 10 m × 7 m, with two water depths (40 cm and 1.20 m)
- A swimming pool measuring over 23 m × 8 m, with a depth of 1.80 m
- Composite decking
- Two access gangways, including a 14 m PRM-accessible gangway equipped with an anti-intrusion gate, a 12 m entrance/exit gangway
- Reboarding ladders
- A PRM lifting hoist
- Lifebuoys
Joinville-le-Pont (Greater Paris area)
Natural bathing site on the Marne River
The redevelopment of the former sandbank has made it possible to create a new natural bathing site on the Marne River.
Hansen Marine delivered:
- 650 m² of floating pontoons
- A 200 m² paddling pool
- An 863 m² swimming area
- Articulated access gangways
- Full PRM accessibility facilities
Since 2026, Hansen Marine has also been responsible for the maintenance of the facilities and the development of new pontoons dedicated to electric boat rides, further enhancing the leisure activities available on the site.
Maisons-Alfort (Greater Paris Area)
A natural bathing site in the heart of a green environment
Following an initial season made possible through our rental solutions, the site was an immediate success with the public.
Hansen Marine delivered:
- 56 metres of floating pontoons
- Two access gangways
- A shallow pool with a steel grating floor
- A main swimming area
- Full safety equipment
The site is now operated as a permanent facility, providing residents and visitors with a high-quality natural swimming experience in an attractive riverside setting.
